A Message from Corinn Somers - Music Director for the Adult Choir:

Welcome to the Music Ministry at Sacred Heart Parish.  Our music ministry is open to all, and offers opportunities for instrumentalists, soloists, and concerts in both the Adult and Youth choirs.

"Those who sing pray twice" are the words of St. Augustine.  Our music ministry at Sacred Heart invites those who are interested to become actively involved.  The Adult Choir presents music for worship at the 10am Mass each Sunday.  Previous experience is not necessary to be a part of this wonderfully talented and welcoming group!

As a musician, one of my favorite passages in the Bible is:

Make a joyful noise unto the Lord.
 Serve the Lord with gladness, come before His presence with singing...
 --Psalm 100:2

I LOVE how this verse is worded - It says make a joyful noise... not necessarily a quiet, solemn, perfect sound.  The way I interpret this verse is that music and praise are not only for accomplished musicians and singers, but for everyone!

Our Joyful Noise Youth Choir sings once a month at the 10am Mass.  We are always open to new members in grades 3 through 8.  Rehearsals are Wednesdays from 4pm-5pm in the church.  This is a great way for the youth of our church family to become involved in church, learn the spirit of volunteerism, as well as music - and social skills that will last a lifetime.   One of our current Adult Choir cantors began singing, and learned how to read music with the Sacred Heart Youth Choir!!
